Elixir offers a modern Graphical User Interface (GUI) that is rich in functionality.  Because Elixir embraces Windows standards it can be used in exactly the same way as any other Windows-based program like MS Word.  Windows-standard keyboard shortcuts where the ALT key is used to access menu items and selecting options within dialog boxes and open windows is standard functionality in Elixir.  The TAB key will move from one editing field to another when a dialog box is displayed.  Right-clicking with the mouse on most data grids will access a sub-menu from where cosmetic changes to the active data table can be made for example moving columns and renaming column headings.

All basic actions like Insert, Edit and Delete are accessed from the navigator bar that is situated on the far right side of all windows.  Standard program functions ensure that Elixir is considered very user-friendly.

Mastermed Practice Manager is powerful and feature–rich with a state-of-the-art graphic-user interface that makes the software intuitive and easy - t o - use. The “Appointments and Rooms” screen allows the user to book and manage appointments, for any combination of patients and practitioners, quickly and easily.

The Practice Management feature is powerful yet simple. The user doesn't have to be a doctor to understand the management program, or be an accountant to understand the accounting program. The feature keeps bulky, inefficient paper records and filing to the absolute minimum with electronic systems for diary, dispensing rules, medical scheme formularies, generic alternatives, automatic records transfers and many other time saving devices:

By making use of a Terminal Client, the program can be accessed from anywhere in the world via either a dial-up connection or Internet access at the cost of a local phone call. Users can access their data at the office, print reports, capture transactions and  even run month end procedures remotely,

ME+ runs on multiple operating systems connected to a single LAN (Local area network) or WAN(Wide area network).  Because ME+ can run a multi-tier network, the user has the option of using Windows or MS-DOS terminals (Character terminals) to connect to the same database on the same network.
